Many times we get customers who were told their guitar was not worth fixing. This early 1900s Lyon and Healy parlor guitar had sentimental value and the customer wanted it to play again after being left in an attic to dry out for 50 years. Two other repair shops told her it would cost more than the guitar is worth and said they wouldn't be able to help her.

The guitar was unplayable, the neck was loose, there were frets popping out and broken, the fnger board was warped, there were cracks in the guitars body, the bracing inside the guitar was loose in several places, and the nut and saddle were made out of what I believe was an old nail .

We removed the neck and bridge, glued all the loose bracing, repaired the cracks in the body, removed the frets, steamed the fingerboard flat, filled all the divots and gouges, replaced the frets, made a new nut and saddle, and french polished the shellac finish. The goal was to make it look as if it was original and never restored, but play like a brand new guitar.
